Part of our mission here at Jangro is to make high quality training as accessible as possible for our customers and their staff. We believe quality training is an investment in business, which boosts productivity, quality and safety. It needn’t be expensive or time-consuming – (just two of the challenges we often hear!).
Read on for our top 5 reasons why you should invest in training.
Maintaining a clean, healthy and safe environment is important for any facility. For example, there can be serious health implications if cleanliness and hygiene is not upheld in hospitals or other healthcare settings. For other facilities, such as those in the leisure industry, the cleanliness levels can determine how successful your business is. A positive experience will influence a customers’ decision to return and recommend. Quality training helps operatives achieve best practice every time so you can offer the very best cleaning service possible.
Health and safety law applies to all businesses. Did you know that organisations that don’t take adequate steps to ensure their employees observe all relevant procedures can also be liable to prosecution? Training is therefore vital for those in the cleaning industry where workers deal with chemicals that could be dangerous if handled inappropriately, as well as other tools that require proper training and personal protective equipment (PPE) to operate. You can download our new health and safety guide at the bottom of this blog.
We are pleased to offer our award-winning online training programme, the Learning Management Solution (or the LMS as we call it), free to all of our customers and their staff. We have spent over six years developing this fully interactive e-learning platform and are constantly refining and updating it. It covers a wide range of topics such as manual handling, health and safety basics, the rules around control of substances hazardous to health, colour coding and infection control, as well as more specialist activities such as floor care, carpet care, and kitchen and washroom hygiene.
Thanks to the digital revolution, the days of sitting in a training centre physically learning from an instructor are no more! The benefit of Jangro’s LMS is that course lengths vary with users able to train remotely at times that suit them. This allows cleaning operatives to dip in and out of short sessions or longer sessions making learning highly flexible and accessible. We recently introduced Task Cards to the programme too. These are short, highly visual documents containing step-by-step instructions for product usage and safety information, helping busy operatives to perform a range of specific cleaning jobs, such as how to mop a floor or clean a toilet correctly on the go.
Well-trained employees work efficiently, cost-effectively and to a high standard, so not only will your business achieve great end results but by investing in their training you are placing value on the work undertaken. In an industry where cleaners are often held in low regard with little long-term loyalty, this can help boost both morale and productivity, even reducing staff turnover. This in itself, has clear business benefits, after all recruitment takes up valuable time and money.
