Jangro appoints Joanne Gilliard as new CEO
Yes, the cleaning and janitorial industry’s hottest rumour is true! At Jangro’s General Meeting earlier this month, we announced that Joanne Gilliard has been appointed as our new CEO.
Joanne has been widely respected as the voice of Jangro for some years now, and for us it was a natural progression for her to become CEO, and lead us forwards. We are very proud of her, and her progression, since she joined us 16 years ago.
Over the years, we have supported her through a Business Degree (which she gained with first class honours), and in her role as Operations Director. Her leadership roles have gradually been expanded from establishing a professional and efficient Head Office, to chairing the Jangro Group Development Committee and more recently becoming Chair of the Jangro Board. She also sits on many other industry association boards.
Joanne says, “I would like to thank the Jangro Board for believing and trusting in me to carry out the role of CEO. I feel very lucky to work in an industry that I am passionate about, for a Group that I truly believe in and to work with such remarkable people. I am very excited by this new opportunity. My vision for Jangro is to continue building on our great customer offer, and to work with the UK and Europe to ensure our industry maintains its high standards. Now, more than ever, it is my job to ensure that Jangro remains a leading and respected Group within the janitorial industry.”
Jangro members are delighted with her appointment, Dave Clark of Vanitorials Ltd, says, “All the Jangro Members, who own our independent companies but choose to be part of the Jangro Group, have been proud of Jo’s progression over the years, and of the way the Jangro Board has backed her. She is the ideal person, maybe the only person, to be Jangro CEO. We’ve seen continuous growth both in turnover and in excellence over the last decade and a half while Jo has been Operations Director. We are confident that growth will continue and the quality of our products and customer service will be maintained with Jo as CEO.”
Gary Fage, Board Director, adds, “Jo has been the Executive Director at the heart of Jangro’s growth from a £40M turnover company when she joined in 2002 to a £185M turnover company today. We’ve invested in her professional development and in the Head Office team which has our complete trust. Why would we choose anyone else as CEO?”
So huge congratulations Joanne! You may now be the CEO, but to us you’ll always be “Jangro Jo”.
